What is Traditional Acupuncture?

Traditional Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese medicine practice that involves the insertion of ultra-fine needles into specific points on the body, known as acupuncture points. These points lie along energy pathways called meridians, which connect various organs and systems in the body. By stimulating these points, acupuncture helps to balance the flow of energy, or Qi (pronounced “chee”), in the body, promoting overall wellness and addressing various ailments.

Conditions Treated by Traditional Acupuncture

Traditional Acupuncture is known for its ability to treat a wide range of health issues, including but not limited to:

Your Acupuncture Session

During your initial consultation, Kari will discuss your medical history, current health concerns, and treatment goals. This comprehensive assessment allows her to create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your unique needs.
Each acupuncture session begins with a brief check-in to discuss any changes or improvements since your last visit. You will then be comfortably positioned on a treatment table during your treatment session. The needles are typically left in place for 20-30 minutes while you relax in a soothing environment.
Most patients report feeling a sense of deep relaxation during their acupuncture sessions and may even take an “acu-nap”.

Safety and Aftercare

Traditional Acupuncture is a safe and effective treatment with minimal side effects. Some patients may experience mild soreness or bruising at the needle insertion sites, but these effects are usually temporary.
After your acupuncture session, it’s essential to stay hydrated, avoid alcohol and caffeine, and get plenty of rest to support your body’s healing process. Kari will provide personalized aftercare instructions and may recommend additional therapies or lifestyle changes to enhance your treatment outcomes.
